The Kids Council is an initiative of the Missing Chapter Foundation (MCF).  Since 2011 we install Kids Councils, which gives children the chance to have a say and be visible in the decision-making process. This broad roll-out is made possible by the Nationale Postcode Loterij (charity lottery in the Netherlands).

The Kids Council began with 21 organizations that set the trend with their own Kids Council. New organizations and schools continue to join this innovative movement.

We are encouraged by the broad support received from children, young people, company representatives, inspiring Dutch celebrities and experts in the fields of social and organizational innovation, leadership and future-oriented education.

Missing Chapter Foundation

The Missing Chapter Foundation (MCF) was founded in 2010 by HRH Princess Laurentien van Oranje to contribute to future-proof solutions to social issues. We encourage decision-makers to include the perspectives of children and youngsters in their decisions by initiating and facilitating an equal and committed dialogue between these parties. We also draw attention to the value of the intellect of children and youngsters.

MCF collaborates with more than 100 partners, ranging from education experts to inspiring celebrities and from schools and organizations to branch associations and public authorities.

We have initiated four programmes that put the intergenerational dialogue into practice: Kids Council, KidsKracht, WaterSpaarders and Kids Moving the World.
